Datsun reveals Go & Go+ facelift, India launch in 2018

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Datsun might not be making noise in the Indian market, but is still remains a fairly new player in the industry. Yes, it is owned by Nissan and is a budget car brand, but it still has double the market share than Skoda and more than triple the market share compared to parent company Nissan here in India. Datsun has now revealed facelift models of the Go & Go+ in Indonesia, with an Indian debut expected sometime in 2018.

We expect Datsun India to launch the facelift models around the festive season of 2018.

So here’s what has changed. Both cars now get a new front bumper, new LED DRLs, reprofiled headlamps, wider front grille, new alloy wheels and turn indicators on ORVMs. You can also opt for a body kit which brings side skirts & a large rear spoiler into the picture. On the inside, the Go & Go+ will now feature a 6.75″ touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. The speedo console has also been reworked along with a different centre console and premium trim finishes.

The 2018 Datsun Go & Go+ come with driver airbag, auto headlamps & power windows for all.

The engine duty is performed by the same 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol motor producing 68 HP of power and 104 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox. With the facelift, Datsun has also introduced an optional CVT gearbox abroad, which seems unlikely to arrive in India to keep costs in check. However, an AMT variant could surely be on the cards.
