Written by Parichay Malvankar

Datsun isn’t really selling cars as much as the competition is in the budget hatchback segment. But the brand is still confident that they can turn the tables and are planning a new compact-SUV. A new report suggests that a compact-SUV from Datsun has been confirmed which will be priced under INR 10 lakh.

Being a compact-SUV, it will obviously be under 4 metres in length. This product is expected to be powered by a 1.0L turbocharged petrol motor sourced from Redi-Go. No diesel option is currently being planned for this new SUV. It will be based on the CMF-A platform which will be shared with a new Renault MPV scheduled for 2019.

The new Datsun compact-SUV will come with features such as ABS, dual airbags and Electronic Stability Control.

Datsun is also planning facelift versions of the Go & Go+ in the coming months. Datsun also wants to refresh their products every six months from this festival season onwards.
