Daimler reveals BS6 compliant BharatBenz trucks buses for India

Daimler has introduce their new BS6 compliant range of BharatBenz trucks and buses for 2020. The brand had an impressive showcase of their new technologies going in the new products. Pre-bookings for the BS6 range will be available depending on the fuel availability in those regions. Orders have already started flowing in for the medium and heavy duty trucks and buses with the new improved engines. The brand claims that the 2020 range of BharatBenz products will be more safer and efficient along with new connected technologies. The new products from Daimler have been introduced under their ‘ProfitTechnology+’ strategy. The digital initiatives will allow fleet owners to track and analyse their vehicles in real time when on a particular job and will also keep BharatBenz in loop to understand vehicle performance and the required maintenance tasks.

For the 2020 BharatBenz range, Daimler has introduced a new front grille with a bumper spoiler to lend a bold loook. The cabins which now include air suspended seats will allow for more driver comfort and for convenience the vehicles come with soft cruise control which helps maintain a steady speed. The instrument cluster of the 2020 range also includes a gear shift indicator to help drivers drive the vehicles better.

The new BharatBenz trucks and buses for 2020 will come powered with the OM926 series and 4D34i series engines. For BS6 compliance, these engines come with new after treatment systems and have a warranty up to 6 years standard and 8 years when extended. Daimler claims that the trucks & buses will now have 20% longer service intervals than BS4 engines and maintenance will go down by 6%. DICV invested nearly INR 500 crore for the new parts for BS6 out of which 80% localisaton has been achieved and more than 1000 new parts were developed.

Daimler with the BharatBenzz portfolio is also open to tender business for government applications when the time and price is right. By the end of 2020, BharatBenz will announce their plans for sustainable mobility with electric vehicle drivetrains.
