Dacia Duster

As revealed in a recent online report, Dacia is planning to introduce a fully electric version of the new-gen Duster SUV globally.

The upcoming Duster EV will be based on Renault’s CMF-BEV platform, which is also shared with the Renault 5, Renault 4, and the upcoming Renault Twingo.

Speaking of the new-gen Duster, the compact SUV has been a strong name in the European market, and it has already sold more than 65,000 units this year so far.

As of now, the brand is working on the 7-seater model based on the Duster. It is called Bigster, and the new SUV will be introduced in the European and Latin markets by the end of this year.

Moreover, Dacia will also be introducing a new top-spec hybrid version of the Duster in the global market with a 4X4 drivetrain. This powertrain will also support a bi-fuel option, as per the online rumours.

As far as the India launch is concerned, Renault has confirmed that it will bring the new-gen Duster to the domestic market soon. We are expecting the new-gen Duster to launch in India next year.

Our verdict

The upcoming Duster EV will become the second electric product of Dacia. The first one is the Sandero hatchback, which is due for a new-gen model upgrade in 2027, where it will bring along a pure EV iteration as well.
