CS Santosh returns to 2016 Dakar Rally

He became the first Indian rider to complete the grueling Dakar Rally Championship last year and now he is up for it again.

CS Santosh has announced his participation in the upcoming season of Dakar Rally 2016. Setting up his pace, Santosh, aims to perform better that the last years performance. The Dakar Rally is known as the most difficult races in the world as participants have to endure varying weather conditions, altitude differences, rocky terrains, slippery slopes or dunes in the dessert.

The rally will run over a total distance of over 9,000 km out of which over 4,500 km will mark the 13 competitive stages that will be run against the clock. Making things even tougher for riders will be the two marathon stages in which no outside mechanical assistance will be allowed at the end of the day. This will test the mechanical skills of the rider and their fitness as after riding for almost 10 hours working on the bike will be a exhausting task. The 2016 Dakar starts from Buenos Aires and finishes in Rosario and total, 152 riders will be participating in 2016 Dakar Rally.

CS Santosh has been allocated with the number 56,s same as previous year and he will be competing on his Suzuki 450 Rally, specially prepared for tackling the 2016 Dakar Rally.
