Although the launch is some time away, the upcoming CLA 45 AMG saloon has made an appearance on the Mercedes-Benz India website.
Once launched, the CLA 45 AMG will be the cheapest AMG Mercedes one can buy in India, of course, only till the A-Class AMG is launched on the Indian shores. Also, the CLA 45 AMG will accompany other AMG powered Mercedes-Benz cars in the showrooms such as the E 63 AMG, SLK 55 AMG Roadster, G 63 AMG, GL 63 AMG & the ML 63 AMG. Another point to be noted here is that the C 63 AMG has been taken down from the website.
The CLA takes significant design cues from the CLS, and the coupe-esque roof line makes this more noticeable.
The CLA 45 AMG will be powered by a 2.0L engine pumping out 360 BHP of power and 450 Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to a AMG Speedshift DCT 7-speed sports transmission. Performance figures are rated at 4.6 seconds for a 0-100 kmph stint, and an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.
