Citroen C4 Cactus SUV spotted testing in India

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

We are aware that the Indian automobile industry is registering strong growth and expanding in size. Carmakers are fully preparing themselves to take on the competition and investing in new models. A recent example of that is the French automaker Citroen. Recently the C4 has been spotted in India for the first time. This is the previous-gen C4 Cactus in the spy shots. And most likely it is being used for benchmarking purposes.

What Is The Citroen C4 Cactus?

Across European markets, C4 Cactus succeeded the third-gen C4. The new C4 gets a coupe SUV profile with contemporary aesthetics. For your reference, at 4,3670 mm, it is longer than the Hyundai Creta. C4 also has a bigger model that comes in as the C4 X.

The C4 Cactus model spotted in India is the facelift version launched back in 2018. We see barely any accessories on the car. In fact, even the number plates are missing. C4 Cactus is a typical family car. This is perfect for utility, comfort and convenience. C4 Cactus also benefits from flush-fitted headlamps, angular fog lamps, a rectangular grille, and a Citroen logo in chrome finish. The side profile carries largely a plain look. At the rear, C4 Cactus benefits from dual rectangular tail lamps

As mentioned, chances are high that the C4 Cactus is here for benchmarking purposes. Thus, it might be in use for testing some specific parts of the car. This is not uncommon for OEMs. As they use cars of other brands for benchmarking purposes.

Will The Citroen C4 Make Its Way Into The Indian Market?

Given the positive outlook for the Indian auto sector, Citroen is currently expanding its portfolio. The company recently added the C3 Aircross. And thus, the French automaker currently retails a total of 4 cars. The other cars on sale are C5 Aircross, C3 and eC3 electric. And thus, going forward, the new-gen C4 might make its way into the Indian market. But as of now, there is no official word from Citroen on such possibilities.
