Citroen C3 to launch in India around June 2022

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

As per the latest rumours, Citroen could launch the C3 in India by June 2022. If it goes through, C3 will become Citroen India’s second offering. Based on the CMP platform, the crossover pretty much looks like a typical Citroen. Eccentric exterior design is the key highlight for the C3. To give it a more dominating look, Citroen has added black plastic cladding all around. The ground clearance of the crossover is 180mm.

The Citroen C3 will have a compact footprint and most likely fall under the sub-4 metre segment. Once launched, C3 will enter the cut-throat competitive compact SUV segment. The other options in the segments include the likes of Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, and Toyota Urban Cruiser.

What Do We Know So Far?

As it stands, C3 will most likely get a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. Customers might get two gearbox options to choose from, i.e. a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT. On the inside, catching up with the competition, Citrone will equip the car with an array of features. This includes a dual-tone dashboard with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster and a smartphone holder, to name a few. Other notable features include vertical aircon vents on either side of the dashboard and a flat-bottom steering wheel. Exterior highlights include a split headlamp setup, horizontal chrome slats on the grille, two-tone exterior colours, fore and aft silver skid plates, roof rails, and wraparound tail lamps.

Citrone has not yet announced any price details. But given the competition in the segment, we expect Citroen to price the crossover in the range of INR 8 lakh to INR 12 lakh (ex-showroom). In terms of colour options, customers will get multiple shades, including both single-tone and dual-tone. The single tone colour options include Ice White, Platinum Grey, Artense Grey, and Zesty Orange. Meanwhile, for the roof, customers will have two trims. These are Artense Grey and Zesty Orange.
