New details of the upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross have been released by the company. This SUV is the French carmaker’s upcoming product for the Indian market. As part of Citroen’s C-cubed program, the C3 Aircross is expected to go on sale soon.

Citroen C3 Aircross Engine Details

The upcoming C3 Aircross will come with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. This unit develops 110 HP and 190 Nm of peak torque. Paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox initially, the carmaker could later offer an automatic as well at a later date. This same engine is offered in the C3 hatchback as well.

Citroen has also released the fuel efficiency numbers for this engine and gearbox combination. As per ARAI numbers, the C3 Aircross with the 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 6-speed manual gearbox will deliver 18.5 km/l. In comparison, rivals like the Honda Elevate, Skoda VW twins Kushaq and Taigun, Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Creta offer lower fuel efficiency than the C3 Aircross. Only the Toyota Hyryder and the Maruti Grand Vitara offer 21.12 km/l, making them the most efficient offering in the segment.

Citroen C3 Aircross Features

The SUV will come with both five and seven-seater options. Further, to maximise space, the rear (3rd row) seats are removable. Citroen is also offering four customization packs with the C3 Aircross.

Meanwhile, the highlight features of the car include a 10.2-inch infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch all-digital driver instrument cluster, connected car tech and more. The C3 Aircross will also come with auto engine start/stop, TPMS, hill hold and others. Uniquely, Citroen is not offering a sunroof on the C3 Aircross.

Launch timelines of the Citroen C3 Aircross

Citroen is likely to open booking for this SUV atleast a month in advance. With tentative launch in the festive season, we can estimate an October launch with bookings opening prior to that.
