The Citroen C3 Aircross has been launched in the European market and it looks and feels very different from the one sold in India. For the European market, the C3 Aircross not only gets a petrol powertrain but it also comes in the form of an EV.
European Spec C3 Aircross – What’s Different?
For starters, the Euro-spec car gets different styling cues than its Indian cousin. It gets aggressive character lines and a boxier, bolder stance. It is also 4.39 meters long which is slightly longer than the India-spec car which is 4.32 meters long. The Euro-spec car also gets bigger wheels and is wider than the Indian C3 Aircross.
In terms of features, the Euro-spec C3 Across gets LED headlamps, heads-up display, parking sensors, a 10.25-inch infotainment display, automatic headlamps. wireless phone charging, and a reversing camera.
Citroen has not revealed the engine specs for the new C3 Aircross. The motor and battery configuration for the eC3 Aircross haven’t been revealed either. It could borrow these from the younger siblings C3 and eC3.
eC3 Aircross Coming to India?
Like the eC3, the eC3 Aircross will also be introduced in India. Howver, this will be launched after the Basalt SUV makes its official debut. The eC3 Aircross is expected to get the same 56 bhp, 143 Nm motor from the eC3. However, it could get a bigger battery pack than the 29.2 kWh that the eC3 is equipped with. The bigger battery might bring up the range for the eC3 Aircross to 400-450 km.
The eC3 Aircross will come when it comes. However, looking at the design of the Euro-spec C3 Aircross we can say that Citroen is cutting corners for the Indian trims to keep costs in check. Not sure how that will play with the psyche of the Indian buyers. Imagine if Citroen could offer the European quality for the current prices! It could work wonders for the brand.
