Citroen C3 Aircross automatic is ready, but not in India

Citroen has showcased the C3 Aircross SUV at the Indonesian Auto Expo. The car is identical to the Indian version, save for one difference. The Indonesian-spec Citroen C3 Aircross will get a 6-speed gearbox.

C3 Aircross with 6-speed AT

The car comes with the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine as seen in India. However, it now develops 110 HP and 205 Nm. The torque numbers are higher than Indian-spec cars by 15 Nm. Further, the car in Indonesia will be sold as a 7-seat model. In India, Citroen offers customers to choose from 5 or 7-seater configurations.

On the inside, the car comes with a conventional gear shifter. This could be later on offered in India as well, but there is no confirmed information from Citroen.

Meanwhile, the Indian-spec C3 Aircross could also feature a rotary switch as seen on the C5 Aircross or the eC3’s drive mode selector.

Citroen C3 Aircross : More Details

In terms of dimensions, the C3 Aircross measures 4,323 mm in long, 1,796 mm wide and 1,669 mm in high. The wheelbase measures 2,671 mm. Overall, the C3 Aircross looks like a larger version of the C3.

Following the usual company design, the SUV comes with a Citroen logo upfront. There are Y-shaped DRLs along with leadlamps sitting below them. The bumper houses air vents with get circular fog lamps beside them.

Citroen is offering four exterior options – Cosmo Blue, Platinum Grey, Steel Grey and Polar White. Further there are an additional six dual-tone options – Platinum Grey with Polar White Body, Cosmo Blue with Polar White and Steel Grey Body and Polar White with Cosmo Blue, Platinum Grey and Steel Grey Body.

The French carmaker is offering a choice of two seating configurations. These are not just extra seats, but significant revisionsot the rear floor pan is done.There is a standard five-seat layout along with a three-row layout that can carry seven passengers. Citroen claims that the 5-seat C3 Aircross offers a 444-litre boot while the 7-seater variant gets 511 litres with the third row fully removed.

Other features on the inside include a touch screen infotainemnt, and a digital instrument cluster. Uniquely, the 7 seater variant ets roof mounted blower to aid in better airflow for the rear occupants.
