Looks like Citroen is also getting ready to launch the 7-seater C3 by the end of 2023. It is possible that the French carmaker could unveil the car a little earlier and launch it at a later date.

Citroen CC4 3-row SUV

Citroen has not yet revealed the name for this SUV, but it has been codenamed as the CC4 for the emerging markets like India. We can speculate that the production-ready CC4 could be named as the C3 Aircross.

It will be similar in design to the current C3 on sale and could feature some differentiation at the front. This could be a new split-headlight design. It is not yet sure if the car will carry Citroen’s new logo. The C-pillar of the CC4 appears to be extra thick, which means that the car has been extended to accommodate the third row of seats.

Based on the CMP modular platform, the CC4 will have a 2,620 mm wheelbase and an overall length of 4,400 mm.

The rear row seats could be for children, and Citroen could project the car as a 5+2 seater. In the entry-level segment, only the Renault Triber offers seven seats. Even then, the higher-end variants of these cars could be priced very close to the base model variants of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Kia Carens.

Engine options on the CC4 3-row SUV

While the C3 is sold with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.2 turbo petrol. The NA engine makes 81 BHP and 115 Nm while the turbo churns out 108 BHP and 190 Nm of max torque. From the specification, we would like to think that the 7-seater version of the C3 could be powered by the turbo petrol to handle the extra weight of the car.

It also remains to be seen if Citroen will launch this as a new variant of the C3 or as a completely new car.
