Austrian two-wheeler manufacturer KTM has officially unveiled its middle-weight naked sports bike called the 890 Duke GP, inspired by the MotoGP. Placed between the 890 Duke and the 890 Duke R, the 890 Duke GP sports an aggressive yet compact stance. KTM comments that the bike caters to enthusiasts who relish fast country roads by showcasing the ideal high-performance and agility. Thanks to its GP-derived CTG, the 890 Duke GP also supports the demands of real-world riding and usability.
2022 KTM 890 Duke GP: Design Details
As a naked sports bike, the 890 Duke GP sports a unique LED headlamp inspired by the 890 Duke R. Enhancing the visibility and style aspects are the thin LED DRLs that flank the headlight, coupled with the LED taillight. KTM has also equipped the bike with a 760mm, tapered aluminium handlebar with 4 levels of adjustability for ideal riding. Along with adjustable brake and clutch levers for convenience, the sports bike gets cast-aluminium footpegs and a grippy seat.
KTM has ensured to equip the bike with a Chromium-Molybdenum-Steel frame that uses the engine as a stressed element. This tubular chassis arrangement provides the 890 Duke GP with its naked look and offers rigidity along with compactness. The bike also sports a cast-aluminium subframe with an airbox that has no plastic covers or additional brackets. Additionally, the triangular shapes within the subframe allow for a strong construction that reduces the bike’s overall complexity and weight.

Powering the KTM 890 Duke GP is an 889cc, 2-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 114 PS and 92 Nm. KTM has paired the engine to a 6-speed manual transmission with a PASC anti-hopping clutch that offers smoother gearshifts. With 14-litres of fuel tank capacity, the bike sports a seat height of 820mm and a ground clearance of 191mm. The 890 Duke GP gets a WP APEX 43 front suspension along with a WP APEX rear monoshock suspension.
The front suspension offers 140mm of travel, whereas the rear monoshock offers 150mm of travel for ideal comfort while riding. For enhanced braking performance, the 890 Duke GP gets dual 300mm front discs with radially-mounted, 4-piston callipers. At the rear, the bike sports a 240mm brake disc with a 2-piston floating calliper and Bosch 9.1 MP ABS. The sports bike also gets a TFT dashboard showcasing important information along with 4 riding modes – Sport, Rain, Street, and Track.
