Aston Martin has showcased a new limited edition track-only superbike. The AMB 001 Pro is a collaboration between the British car brand and British motorcycle maker Brough Superior. The bike was unveiled at the 2022 EICMA Show in Milan, Italy.

Design of the Aston Martin AMB 001 Pro

The Pro is the successor to the AMB 001, which is sold out and was unveiled back at the 2019 EICMA. The AMB 001 Pro takes performance to the next level. It gets a 25% bump in the power numbers and a power-to-weight ratio of 1.28 HP/kg, which is similar to Formula One cars.

Offered in a single Pro specification, the successor to the sold-out AMB 001 was inspired by Aston Martin’s no rules track hypercar Valkyrie AMR Pro. Like its inspiration, AMB 001 Pro takes track performance to the extreme, offering a 25% power increase on its predecessor, with its 225 HP producing a power-to-weight ratio of 1.28 hp/kg, similar to that of a Formula One car.

The bike gets a new front spoiler and side wings that offer increased downforce. The front cowl is also fixed to the body to improve downforce at the front. Air passes from the front air intake to the large integrated windscreen and passes over this new cowl, after which it is deflected on the front windscreen. Another aero update includes the rear fin with an aero stabiliser design.

Aston Martin will offer the AMB 001 Pro in one paint shade. It gets a racing livery with Aston Martin Verdant Jade, satin-finished carbon fibre and a black Cerakote engine. It also gets Photon Lime accents, paying homage to Aston Martin’s track winners.

The bike will also get Aston Martin’s ‘lacewing’ badge first offered on the Valkyrie.

Performance of the Aston Martin AMB 001 Pro

The bike now gets a 997cc twin-cylinder engine that has been machined from a single AL 5000 solid billet. Thanks to this, the stiffness of the structural engine has been improved, while a new cylinder design helps improve cooling.

The new engine is naturally aspirated and develops 225 HP of power. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.

Production of the Aston Martin AMB 001 Pro

Aston Martin will produce only 88 bikes. The AMB 001 Pro will be hand-built at the Brough Superior factory in Toulouse, France. The first delivery is scheduled for Q4 2023.
