ChargeZone helping Electric Buses E-mobility in India

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

ChargeZone mobility recently announced that it is now powering over 500+ electric buses via its nationwide charging stations. The company has its presence in cities which include Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Patna, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Kanpur and Varanasi, among others. As of now, ChargeZone has set up close to 125 Super Fast DC charging points. Furthermore, there are plans to expand the network to two more cities, Chandigarh and Bangalore. ChargeZone has also worked in synergy with various government departments to set up this charging infrastructure.

What’s The Charging Station?

In line with Central Government’s FAME II policy for Electric Buses and led by State/City transportation Units, these charging stations are built under the CCS2 charging protocol. The company mentioned that these super-fast DC charging stations can charge an electric bus up to 80 per cent in under 90 minutes. ChargeZone has set up an ambitious target of setting up one million charging points by 2030. The main aim is to strengthen the public EV charging infrastructure in the country.

Commercial vehicles form a huge part of the Indian automotive space, and converting them to electric is quite some task. This shift to a cleaner and greener form of energy can help reduce the carbon footprint significantly. ChargeZone also mentioned that its long-term goal is to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by integrating renewable energy throughout our electric bus charging network.

Current Charging Infrastructure

With the shift to EV becoming pretty much mainstream, ChargeZone is looking at the commercial segment. The company has built large EV charging hubs for various e-mobility companies such as Ashok Leyland, Volvo-Eicher, and GreenCell Mobility, among others. ChargeZone completed the electrification of over 1000 km of National Highways in India along the Gujarat- Maharashtra National highway. ChargeZone accomplished this by installing a network of twenty(20) unmanned, app-driven, Super-fast EV charging points. Serving both B2B and B2C channels, ChargeZone has also set-up up 1450+ charging points across 650+ EV charging stations. Currently, the EV charging company serves around 5,000 EVs daily.
