BYD India Private Limited recently inaugurated its first dealership showroom of passenger vehicles. This facility was created in Ernakulam, in the state of Kerala. EVM Southcoast in Kochi has taken up the responsibility of managing this dealership facility.
With this dealership, consumers in Kerala will have access to BYD’s pure electric vehicles. EVM Southcoast has a considerable experience in the automobile industry. With its extensive reach, it covers vast neighbouring regions in the market. With BYD in the market, residents of Ernakulam will now have one extra brand to look at before finalising their EV deal. The showroom houses well-trained technicians and also gets complete facilities, including service bays, a customer lounge area and EV charging stations. BYD aims to offer its customers the best in-store experience. The showroom has a total area of 2,500 square feet.
Starting from Kochi with the first customer showroom BYD is now making visible progress in the country. Furthermore, with the rising sales figure, BYD will hope to cater to the customers’ demand with its customised products and service. This will also spur and accelerate green initiatives in the region as well as the country.
Kochi being the state’s most densely populated city of Kerala and also the financial, commercial and industrial capital of the state, has immense potential for premium passenger cars. Thus, BYD aims to become the main contributor to EV adoption in the EPV segments in Kerala.
As of January 2022, India has achieved nearly 1 per cent EV penetration. With the goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070 in the country, BYD will work closely with its to provide localised and green products to realise the target.
