BS6 Mahindra KUV100 NXT priced at INR 5.50 lakh, diesel variants discontinued

Mahindra has launched the KUV100 NXT in the BS6 avatar with the starting price of INR 5.50 lakh ex-showroom, Mumbai. The KUV100 NXT comes in four variant trims – K2+, K4+ K6+ and K8. The BS6 KUV100 is available as a petrol-only car and the brand seems to have dropped the diesel option from the line-up in its transition from BS4 to more stringent BS6 emission standards.

In the engine department, the KUV100 NXT is powered by a BS6 compliant mFalcon G80 series 1.2-litre three-cylinder Multi-Point Fuel Injection petrol motor with Dual Variable Valve Timing that produces 80 hp of power and 115 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual unit powering the front wheels of the car.

In terms of styling and equipment, the KUV100 NXT features X-shaped front fascia with a body-coloured bumper, black meshed grille with chrome-accented vertical slats, large meshed air dam, silver skid plate, black inserts around the fog lamps, dual-chamber wraparound headlamps with integrated daytime running lights, raised ridges on the bonnet, character lines on the shoulder, flared wheel arches with black claddings, door cladding, ORVMs with side indicators etc. 

On the interiors, the KUV100 NXT features a grey theme with black accents, dual-tone interiors with ambient lighting on the top-spec trim, 17.8-cm touchscreen infotainment system connectivity features and Mahindra Bluesense app compatibility, steering mounted audio and telephony controls, HVAC, fabric seat upholstery, front row armrest, dead pedal, central locking, power windows, gear shift indicator, illuminated key ring, follow me home and lead me to vehicle lights and more.

In terms of safety, the Mahindra KUV100 NXT comes with dual front airbags (Driver and Passenger), ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, over-speed alert, seat belt reminder, collapsible steering column, child safety door locks and antislip doormats as a standard part of the pack.

At the 15th edition of the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi, Mahindra also launched the eKUV100 a fully-electric vehicle based on the KUV100 NXT with a price tag of INR 8.25 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi including the FAME benefits. The eKUV100 is powered by a 15.9 kWh electric motor coupled to a liquid-cooled battery pack and produces 40kW (54.4hp) of power and 120 Nm of torque and provides a claimed range of 150 km on a single charge.
