The Hyundai Verna has secured a 5-star Global NCAP rating. In adult occupant tests, the Verna scored 28.18 points while it got 42 points in the child occupant protection.

The new Verna was tested across multiple crash tests like the frontal impact test, side impact test and the child occupant protection tests as well.
The Verna managed to offer good protection to the head and neck of both the driver and the passenger in the front impact test. Further, the driver’s chest area offered marginal protection, while the passenger’s chest showed good protection. Both the driver’s and the front passenger’s knees showed marginal protection. Additionally, the driver’s tibias were rated at adequate protection and the passenger’s got good and adequate protection.
In the side impact crash tests, the test dummy reported good protection for the head, pelvis and abdomen while the chest was rated at adequate protection. Further, the head and pelvis were offered good protection in these tests as well. Meanwhile, chest and abdomen were rated as marginal and adequate respectively.
The child seat was secured using ISOFIX anchorages. The seat was able to avoid head exposure of the 3-year-old dummy during the frontal impact test. The 18-month old dummy was secured in a rearward facing seat which too prevented head exposure. Furthermore, the system was able to offer full side impact protection as well.
Standard safety features on the Hyundai Verna
The test car was equipped with dual front and curtain airbags. The Verna also comes with ESC, ISOFIX and seat belt reminders as standard.

The Hyundai Verna starts from INR 10,89,900. It is available in four variants – EX, S , SX and the top-of-the-line SX(O). In terms of engine options, the Korean carmaker is offering buyers a choice of 1.5-litre NA engine or a 1.5-litre Turbo petrol. There are no diesel engines on offer.
Visually, the 2023 Hyundai Verna boasts of the Sensuous Sportiness theme. The front of the car is dominated by a large trapezoid-shaped grille. It features a slim LED light bar across the full-width of the Verna. The sides too feature a few character lines. These merge with the LED tail lights at the back.
On the inside, Hyundai has equipped the new Verna with a host of features. These include the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The driver too gets an all-digital instrument cluster. Hyundai offers a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel with the Verna. Other features include heated / ventilated front seats, powered driver seat, multicolour ambient lights and a Bose Audio system. The insides also get an automatic climate control, a smart trunk and an electric sunroof.
