Mind you, the crash tests were performed on the top-spec HTX+ DCT petrol and the mid-spec HTK (O) MT petrol variants. While the diesel iterations are yet to be tested, we believe those models will also get similar ratings.

The crash test results portray that the frontal collision safety for adults was more than satisfactory, while the car scored a complete 16 out of 16 points for the side deformable barrier test. However, the side pole impact result was certified as OK.

An identical result was achieved for child occupant safety as the test dummies of an 18-month-old and a 3-year-old were reported fine after passing through a variety of impacts. The total score of child occupant protection stands at 44.42 points out of 49.

Kia K1 platform for the win

The Syros is based on Kia’s K1 platform, which is also shared with the sibling brand cars like Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. This platform has been altered specifically for the design and space requirement of the Syros.

With the use of high-strength and lightweight steel materials, Kia has managed to achieve good safety figures for Syros. Moreover, it comes equipped with 6-airbags and ABS along with ESP.
