Bounce Infinity E1 electric scooter debuts in India, bookings open at INR 499

One of India’s first smart mobility solutions company Bounce has unveiled its first consumer electric scooter for the Indian market. Called the Infinity E1, Bounce has priced the e-scooter inclusive of the battery and charger at INR 68,999 (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, Bounce has priced the Infinity E1 inclusive of the Battery-as-a-Service subscription at INR 45,099 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Prospective customers can book the new, FAME II eligible Infinity E1 by paying a refundable booking amount of INR 499. Bounce states that it offers customers the choice to acquire the Infinity E1 with or without the battery pack. Using the brand’s battery swapping network, customers can instead swap their empty battery packs for fully-charged ones.

Bounce Infinity E1: Design Details 

The Infinity E1 electric scooter utilizes a tubular frame chassis in combination with a hydraulic telescopic front suspension. The e-scooter also features twin shock absorbers at the rear for optimized ride comfort and stylish alloy wheels. Bounce offers the Infinity E1 electric scooter in 5 colours- Sporty Red, Sparkle Black, Pearl White, Desat Silver, and Comet Grey. Additionally, the e-scooter also sports projector headlights with integrated LEDs, a 12-litre storage boot, and a digital speedometer.

Bounce Infinity E1: Battery and Powertrain Details 

Bounce has utilized a 48V, 39A portable battery pack for the Infinity E1 e-scooter with IP67 waterproof certification. According to Bounce, customers can charge the battery via any regular electric socket, which takes 4-5 hours to charge completely. The brand also states the e-scooter sports a driving range of 85 Km per charge. The Infinity E1’s swappable battery pack sends its power to the electric motors via an Advanced FOC controller.

The motors produce 83 Nm of torque, allowing the e-scooter to achieve a top speed of 65 kmph. Along with a 0-40 kmph time of 8 seconds, the e-scooter also sports 2 driving modes- Eco and Power. Focussing on rider safety, Bounce has equipped the e-scooter with a twin-disc brake assembly at the front with EBS. The electronic braking system ensures that riders can experience superior braking performance whilst generating energy to recharge the battery.

Bounce Infinity E1: Features and Future Plans 

Bounce has equipped the Infinity E1 with a host of electronic features, consisting of numerous state-of-the-art sensors. These include CANBUS, a Smart App, Remote Applications, Geofencing, Drag Mode, Reverse Mode, Cruise Control, Anti Theft, and Tow Alert.

In 2021, Bounce acquired a 100% stake in 22Motors via a deal valued at USD 7 million. Along with 22Motors, Bounce also acquired a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant located at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. With this factory, Bounce has an annual capacity to manufacture 1,80,000 scooters. The brand also plans to set up a 2nd plant in southern India.
