Boom Motors plan to hike the prices of the base and EX versions by INR 3,000 and 5,000, respectively. The company has already started its online bookings for the e-scooter at an INR 500 token amount. According to Boom Motors, the commencement of deliveries for the e-scooter will begin from January 2022. The company offers the e-scooter in 4 colour options- Whale Blue, Beetle Red, Mantis Green, and Panther Black.
Boom Corbett 14: Design Details
Competing against eBikeGo’s Rugged G1 and G1 Plus, the Corbett 14 showcases a minimalist yet unique moped-style design. The e-scooter features a circular LED headlamp, a straight-lined handlebar, and forward-set footpegs with very few body panels. Due to its moped-themed styling, the e-scooter does not have a large footboard, which impedes legroom and onboard storage. The e-scooter sports a distinct exoskeletal frame extending towards the rear to form a grab rail to complete the look.
Boom Corbett 14: Powertrain and Charging
Boom Motors offers the base Corbett 14 with a 3 kW electric motor powered by a 2.3 kWh battery. With IP6 dust and water certification, the base Corbett 14 sports a driving range of 100 Km per charge. Meanwhile, the EX version gets a 4kW electric motor powered by dual 4.6 kWh swappable battery packs.
This enables the EX variant to offer a driving range of 200 Km per charge. The base and EX variants of the Corbett 14 sport a top speed of 65 kmph and 75 kmph, respectively. Both versions of the e-scooter take 2.5 to 4 hours to charge using a 220V, 5A, 3-pin plug.
Boom Corbett 14: Technical Specs and Features
The e-scooter features a double-cradle chassis made of high tensile steel for enhanced durability and safety. With the chassis covered under a 7-year warranty, the bike also sports an IoT-developed in-house portable battery pack. Both variants get 14-inch wheels and an anti-dive 4-point adjustable front suspension with a 4-point adjustable rear suspension.
The base variant gets synchro disc brakes for braking performance, whereas the EX version gets combination disc brakes. Additionally, the company offers the e-scooter with 30 litres of under-seat storage and an app to track petrol savings. The app also enables the rider to track CO2 emissions and activate parental mode for extra safety and security.
