Bookings open for BMW X3 facelift in India

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

BMW India has started taking pre-bookings for the X3 facelift. Interested customers who will avail of this pre-booking will get 20-inch M alloys worth INR 2 lakh for free. BMW has opened the pre-bookings for both online and offline BMW dealerships. The SUV is set to hit the Indian market on January 20, 2022. Once launched the X3 will lock its horns with Audi Q5 facelift, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Volvo XC60. This update will include all the changes and updates that we saw on the X3 facelift launched abroad last year.

Changes In The Exterior

The most prominent change we see in this facelift update is the large kidney grille. Alongside this, the SUV will also get a new set of headlights, aluminium finish on the windows and roof rails, a new front apron and more. In the rear, the tail-lights are now much slimmer. Further enhancing the look is the new rear bumper and exhausts.

What’s New Inside?

There are some big changes in this area. The facelift X3 will get a revised centre console similar to the one we see in the 4 series. And hence, for the first time, X3 will get the new 12.3-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system. Other changes include an updated digital cluster and updated switchgear.

Powertrain And Mechanicals

BMW will equip the same engines that power the current iteration model. And hence, customers will continue to get both petrol and diesel powertrain options that are 2.0-litre units with four cylinders. The performance figure stands at 187 BHP and 400 Nm for the diesel engine. Meanwhile, for the petrol engine, the figures stand at 248 BHP and 350 Nm.

For the abroad market, the X3 is also available in the form of a plug-in hybrid and an all-electric version. But sadly, both these won’t make it to the Indian market. However, there are some chances that BMW could launch the higher power spec of the X3 that gets a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol motor. But, there’s no official confirmation for the same.
