BMW’s India Art Fair – Know More

BMW will be showcasing its flagship i7 electric sedan at the India Art Fair. This event commenced from 9 February 2023 and will end on 12 February 2023. It is taking place at the NSIC Exhibition Grounds in New Delhi. The India Art Fair is a platform to showcase modern and contemporary art from India and South East Asia. 

The Future is Born of Art

An initiative by BMW India and India Art Fair, ‘The Future is Born of Art’ aims to showcase emerging Indian artists. It also aligns with the German carmaker’s vision to promote art, sustainability and innovation. 

At the Fair, the carmaker will also showcase its second ‘‘The Future is Born of Art’ commission and alongside host the BMW Art Talk based on the theme ‘Raw and Radical’.

BMW India will also showcase its second commission based on the theme ‘Forwardism’ on the new BMW X7.  

Artists at the India Art Fair

Artists like Aditi Aggarwal, Devika Sundar, Rithika Pandey and Sajid Wajid Shaikh have been shortlisted for the commission. It promises to boost the emerging Indian artists and push them on a global stage. The winning artist along with the design will be selected by judges and via an open public poll and announced on the Fair’s social media handles and its website. 

About India Art Fair 

The annual art fair takes place in New Delhi. It offers an insight into the fast-developing local art scene as well as showcases curated insights of the cultural landscape in the neighbouring countries. It also hosts galleries and artists, private foundations and arts charities, artists’ collectives, national institutions, cultural events and festivals.

About BMW i7

The new 7 Series looks unlike no other 7 Series. It gets a progressive front fascia with a very large kidney grille. On both sides of the grille are new design headlamps. The headlamps now get a split design, with the top portion housing the LED daytime running lights with the main beams located below. Apart from this, the car also gets new alloy wheels and horizontal LED tail lamps.  

Dual electric motors power the BMW i7. These are rated at a combined output of 536 BHP and 755 Nm of peak torque. There is a 101.7 kWh battery which offers a WLTP range of 625 km on a single charge. In terms of performance, BMW claims that the i7 has a brisk 0-100 km/h time of just 4.7 seconds. Meanwhile, the sedan’s top speed has been electronically restricted to 239 km/h.
