BMW X7 SUV arrives in India for INR 98.90 lakh

The biggest ever ‘X’ from BMW, the all-new X7 has made a debut in the Indian market. BMW likes to call their range of SUVs as SAV, where it stands for Sports Activity Vehicle. The new BMW X7 will be available in two variants – X7 xDrive30d Design Pure Excellence Signature priced at INR 98.90 lakh and the X7 xDrive40i (CBU) which also costs the same, INR 98.90 lakh; ex-showroom. The former is a diesel engine version of the X7 which is locally built at the Chennai facility while the latter, the CBU version is a petrol-powered X7.

Bookings are now open for the X7, and this is the brands all-new 7-seater luxury SUV which will rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLS. The Design Pure Excellence ‘DPE’ variant gets ample of chrome and high gloss elements on the outside and inside for a premium touch. The new X7 will be available in white, blue, sapphire, brown, grey and black paint options. The CBU X7 xDrive40i will be available in non-metallic white, bronze and grey colours. Inside, the X7 features leather upholstery in perforated Vernasca trim in beige + mokka and black on black colour theme.

BMW boasts that the X7 comes with a humongous grille on the front in chrome, laser light technology, LED tail lamps, large window arears with elongated rooline, long doors which enhance the cars presence, split tail gate and plenty of chrome accents all around. Of course you have roof rails, fog lamps, body cladding, snazzy alloy wheels and the likes.

Inside, the X7 comes with a 5-zone climate control, soft touch materials, 6-seat configuration option, sky lounge panoramic glass with lights. Premium touch like glass-cut gear selectorm iDrive controller, audio control button and start / stop button. The keyless entry can be accessed even from a distance of 1.5m radius. The X7 has a 326L boot with all seats up and extends to 2120L with the configurable seating layout.

Powering the BMW X7 xDrive40i is a 3.0L, 6-cylinder petrol motor which belts out 340 HP of power and 450 Nm of torque matched to an AWD system. This SUV sprints from 0-100 kmph in 6.1 seconds. The X7 diesel has a 3.0L, 6-cylinder block producing 265 HP of power and 620 Nm of torque achieving 0-100 kmph in 7 seconds. The X7 comes matched to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The X7 comes with adaptive 2-axle air suspension for a comfortable ride. It gets feratures like ‘Automatic Differential Brakes/Locks’ (ADB-X), traction control, hill descent control, hill hold, stability program, cornering brake control, electric park brake, side-impact protection and many more safety features.

The X7 has a 12.3″ digital instrument console and another 12.3″ infotainment screen. One can also opt for 2 10.2″ screens in full HD for the rear seat entertainment along with the 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system.
