BMW X5 Plug-In Hybrid will get sustainable natural rubber tyres from Pirelli

Milan-headquartered multinational tyre company Pirelli has become the first tyre-producer in the world to manufacture FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council) tyres. Pirelli is designing the new P Zero tyres containing FSC-certified natural rubber and rayon for the BMW X5 xDrive45e Plug-in-Hybrid. The FSC chain of custody certification also verifies that FSC-certified material and separates it from non-certified material. This process ensures that the non-certified material does not make its way from the plantations to the tyre manufacturer.
