What is the BMW R12 GS all about?
The R12 GS is built on the same platform as the R 12 nineT roadster but is tailored for off-road adventures. It features a purposeful stance, minimal bodywork, and a design that harks back to the iconic HP2 Enduro. The bike is equipped with 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke wheels wrapped in knobby tires, ensuring it can tackle the toughest terrains.

Under the hood, the R12 GS houses a 1,170cc air/oil-cooled boxer twin engine. This powerplant, shared with the R 12 nineT, is tuned to produce 109 hp and 115 Nm of torque, making it a formidable machine for both on-road and off-road escapades. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch.
The bike’s suspension setup includes upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock, both offering extended travel to handle rough trails. Spy shots have revealed additional features like a single-sided upswept exhaust, a chiselled fuel tank, and a floating tail section. The R12 GS will also boasts a round headlamp nestled within a cowl, adding to its rugged charm.
