BMW Motorrad India has launched the new BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure in the Indian market. The R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure will arrive on Indian soil via the Completely Built-Up (CBU) route. The brand also announced that Customers can book the ultimate adventure motorcycle from all BMW Motorrad showrooms in India.
BMW R 1250 GS & BMW R 1250 GS Adventure – Price & Colours
The BMW R 1250 GS comes with a price tag of INR 20.45 lakh ex-showroom. On the other hand, the more off-road capable BMW R 1250 GS Adventure is priced at INR 22.40 lakh ex-showroom. The BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure come with Style Triple Black and Style Rallye colour variants. In addition to this, BMW will also offer a limited-edition special “40 Years GS” edition.
The Style Triple Black comes with a Blackstorm metallic/black/agate grey colour combination. The colour option features a metallic matt agate grey, mainframe and black subframe. The colour option also features a black-coated drivetrain. The Style Rallye comes with a light white solid paint/racing blue metallic/racing red solid paint colour combination. The colour theme also comes with a black finish on the drivetrain and other trim parts. The “40 Years GS” edition features black and yellow combinations, drawing inspiration from the BMW R 100 GS.
BMW R 1250 GS & BMW R 1250 GS Adventure – Engine Specifications
The BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure come with a 1254cc two-cylinder in-line BMW Boxer engine. The engine comes with BMW Shiftcam technology which is a variable camshaft control system. The BMW Shiftcam technology provides an additional increase in power across the entire engine speed range and optimises smoothness and rideability. The new technology also reduces fuel consumption and emission. The BMW Boxer engine produces 136 Hp of power and 143 Nm of torque.

The BMW R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure come with a plethora of features. For starters, both motorcycle models now feature a new full-LED adaptive headlight with ‘Welcome’ and ‘Follow Me Home’ functions. The motorcycles also get newly developed turn indicator bulbs, cruising light and function-integrated turn indicators available as options. Both motorcycles also come with a 6.5-inch full-colour TFT display which can be controlled using a BMW Motorrad multi-controller. The digital dashboard also integrates with BMW Motorrad Connected app for telephony, media functions, navigation etc.
BMW R 1250 GS & BMW R 1250 GS Adventure – Riding Modes & Safety Functions
The motorcycles also come with Pro riding modes. These Pro riding modes include two ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’ riding modes that help adapt to various road conditions. The motorcycles also come with Eco mode, which increases the efficiency of the engine. Pro riding modes also include Dynamic, Dynamic Pro, Enduro and Enduro Pro modes. Also available as an option is Electronic Dynamic ESA to enhance safety. But as standard, BMW offers Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Hill Start Control Pro (HSC Pro) and BMW Integral ABS Pro.
