BMW Motorrad reveals R 1300 GSA with automatic clutch & 30L fuel tank

Written by News Team

The BMW R 1300 GSA, a new addition to the GS family, has made its debut, and it’s packed with exciting features. Based on the R 1300 GS platform, this adventure motorcycle brings innovation to the forefront. Let’s explore what sets it apart.

Automatic Clutch System:

The R 1300 GSA is the first BMW bike to come standard with an automatic clutch system. The Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) eliminates the need for manual clutch operation during gear changes and stops. Riders can still take manual control if desired. Starting from 2025, this ASA system will also be optionally available on the R 1300 GS.

Fuel Capacity:

One standout feature is the massive 30-liter fuel tank, an 11-liter increase over the standard GS. With this capacity, fuel stops become less frequent, making long rides more enjoyable.

Weight and Dimensions:

  • The R 1300 GSA weighs 269 kg, 32 kg more than the R 1300 GS.
  • Adjustable seat height ranges from 870 mm to 890 mm, accommodating various rider preferences.
  • The GSA’s design includes clear side wind deflectors and ally-rimmed ‘Crosspoke’ wire wheels.

Variants:

The R 1300 GSA comes in four variants:

  1. Standard: Loaded with features, including 4 riding modes, engine brake control, hill-hold assist, and radar-assisted safety features.
  2. Triple Black: A stylish variant with unique aesthetics.
  3. GS Trophy: Designed for adventure enthusiasts.
  4. Option 719 Karakorum: Customizable with additional accessories.

Performance:

Just like the R 1300 GS, the GSA too gets the 1300 cc engine that puts out 145 hp of power and 149 Nm of peak torque. However, the GSA is about 32 kg heavier than the R which could result in a slight dip in acceleration.

Pricing:

In India, the BMW R 1300 GS is currently priced at INR 20.95 lakh (ex-showroom). When the R 1300 GSA arrives, expect a similar premium over the venerable R 1250 GSA.

The R 1300 GSA combines power, technology, and adventure-ready features, making it an exciting choice for riders seeking the ultimate touring experience.
