BMW Motorrad has started accepting bookings on the upcoming R 1300 GS in the Indian market. Furthermore, the new BMW Motorrad R 1300 GS is likely to make its market debut in India next week. Interested customers can book the adventure motorcycle from BMW Motorrad’s official website. However, the price tag of the motorcycle has not been revealed yet.
BMW Motorrad R 1300 GS – The Spirit of GS
The new BMW Motorrad R 1300 GS has come a long way from the classic GS design language. The motorcycle not only appears futuristic but also comes with futuristic features. However, there are no compromises in the functional department of the new R 1300 GS. The motorcycle is designed to do both comfortable long-distance journeys as well as sporty off-road runs. The innovative modular frame concept also allows you to ride with a lot of luggage and the bike is versatile enough for higher or lower, single-seater or with passenger preferences.
BMW Motorrad R 1300 GS – Technical Specifications
Powering the BMW Motorrad R 1300 GS is a 1300cc horizontally-opposed twin-cylinder “BMW Boxer” engine producing 145 Hp of power and 149 Nm of torque. Compared to the predecessor, the new motor makes 9 Hp and 6 Nm more but is also compact than before.
To achieve this BMW has placed the 6-speed gearbox under the engine. In addition to this, the R 1300 GS also comes with a 19-litre aluminium fuel tank and die-cast aluminium rear subframe to reduce its weight. However, the R 1300 GS weigh in at 237 kgs at the kerb and that’s why the brand is offering the bike with lean angle, braking, acceleration for stability and precision as total control.
BMW Motorrad R 1300 GS also comes with a newly developed chassis with new Monocoque rear frame. The motorcycle also gets a new EVO Telelever and EVO Paralever, front and rear suspension with new DSA (Dynamic Suspension Adjustment) and innovative adaptive vehicle height control.
