BMW Motorrad M 1000 RR launched in India at INR 42,00,000

BMW Motorrad has launched the first BMW Motorrad M model in the Indian market in the form of the BMW M 1000 RR priced starting at INR 42 lakh ex-showroom for the standard and INR 45 lakh for the BMW M 1000 RR Competition. The BMW M 1000 RR comes to India via the CBU (Completely Built-Up) route and booking for both the Standard and Competition models are open through BMW Motorrad India dealerships starting today.

The BMW M 1000 RR

The M 1000 RR is based on the BMW S 1000 RR and features pure racing DNA, offered with high-performance parts and exclusive details specially made for motorsport aficionados. In the world of BMW, ‘M’ is the strongest word expressing power, design and exclusivity. The M design of the M 1000 RR indicates the ultimate racetrack performance along with everyday usability. The motorcycle features compact design language along with optimised chassis layout and minimised weight and the most powerful BMW Motorrad standard engine of all time.

Design & Styling

The BMW M 1000 RR features a split-face fascia with a slim and slender body, a black matt T-shaped fresh air flap, integrated LED headlights, dynamically U shape signature daytime running lights, new carbon fibre M winglets on the side fairings, carbon fibre front fender, a bubble racing windscreen, carbon fibre tank trim, a high mounted tail with sharp features, light white solid paint with M Sport colour scheme in an asymmetrical colour arrangement, granite grey engine covers, M brake callipers with blue anodised coating & M logo, M carbon wheels in carbon fibre, M brakes, fuel filler cap in black paint and a blue spring strut.

Powertrain

Powering the BMW M 1000 RR new liquid-cooled 999cc four-cylinder engine that belts out 212 HP of power and 113 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed transmission unit equipped with a non-reinforced anti-hopping clutch for optimum power delivery at Launch, using Launch Control. This allows the M 1000 RR to sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 3.1 seconds and achieves a top speed of 306 kmph. The engine architecture is based on the BMW S 1000 RR but comes with fully machined intake ports offering a new duct geometry, BMW ShiftCam technology, new 12 grams lighter new 2-ring forged pistons from Mahle, 6 % lighter rocker arms, a new combustion chamber, Titanium valves, new camshafts, lightened engine block and connecting rods from Pankl and a Titanium exhaust the reduces weight by 3.7 kgs.

Competitions Package

The BMW M 1000 RR Competition which is INR 3 lakh more expensive than the standard features a Carbon Pack which includes stronger and lightweight carbon fibre parts such as – M Carbon front and rear mudguard, M Carbon upper fairing side panel, M Carbon tank cover, M Carbon chain guard and M Carbon sprocket cover. The Competition Package also includes – M Billet Pack with M Engine protectors, M folding brake lever, M folding clutch lever, M brake lever guard, M rider footrest system. Also included are an M GPS-lap trigger, Passenger Kit and a Pillion Seat Cover converting the road bike into a track weapon.

Features

The BMW M 1000 RR comes with features such as four riding modes – Rain, Road, Dynamic and Race as standard. Riding Modes Pro option with freely programmable additional three riding modes – RacePro 1-3 with user-programmable Engine (throttle), Engine Brake, Traction Control, Wheelie-Control, ABS and ABS Pro, ‘Pro Modes’ is Launch Control and pit-lane limiter, a 6.5-inch TFT instruments display with M logo animation and an On-Board Diagnostics interface etc.

Customers can avail customized and flexible financial solutions through BMW Financial Services India that enables them to get their loans pre-approved before delivery takes place. BMW Motorrad also offers a ‘three years, unlimited kilometres’, warranty on the M 1000 RR which is also extendable to 4th and 5th years. The brand also provides a 24×7 365 days Roadside Assistance package in case of breakdowns. The BMW M 1000 RR will be serviced through its entire network of authorized dealers located in 15 cities across the country.
