BMW Motorrad has launched the new S 1000 XR, a high performance adventure motorcycle in the Indian market. The BMW S 1000 XR comes with a price tag of INR 22.50 lakh ex-showroom. The brand also revealed that the BMW S 1000 XR is now available to order from all BMW Motorrad dealerships in India. The BMW S 1000 XR will be available in the Indian market via the completely built-up unit (CBU).
The new S 1000 XR comes with a reworked in-line four-cylinder engine that now offers even more performance. Also, the high performance motorcycle comes with improved ergonomics and design refinements. The BMW Motorrad S 1000 XR is an amalgamation of the S 1000 RR’s power and performance as well as the XR series’ long distance capabilities. The BMW Motorrad S 1000 XR will be available in the Blackstorm metallic, Gravityblue metallic (with Style Sports) and Lightwhite solid paint/Motorsport (with M Package) colour options.
BMW Motorrad S 1000 XR – Design and Features
The BMW Motorrad S 1000 XR comes with a completely redesigned seat. This enables freedom of movement for both high-performance riding on country roads as well as on the race track. The fairing on the S 1000 XR features a sharp design and comes with a hinted snout as well as sharp tail blending the best of both worlds. The motorcycle also comes with an adjustable windshield reducing wind buffeting and offering a comfortable ride even at high speeds.

BMW Motorrad S 1000 XR – Powertrain & Performance
Powering the BMW Motorrad S 1000 XR is a 999cc in-line four-cylinder engine with liquid cooling. The reworked engine produces 170 Hp of power and 114 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox and an anti-hopping clutch. The S 1000 XR is capable of sprinting from 0-100 KMPH in just 3.25 seconds and is also capable of achieving a top speed of 253 KMPH. The motorcycle comes with a fuel tank of 20-litres and comes with a saddle height of 820-850 mm. The motorcycle weighs also comes with a kerb weight of 227 kgs.
