BMW Motorrad has officially launched the all-new BMW R 1300 GS in India. The adventure motorcycle is set to hit the roads as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU), with deliveries starting at the end of June 2024. Priced at INR 20,95,000 (ex-showroom), the R 1300 GS brings an impressive array of features and innovations.
Power and Design
One of the standout features of the BMW R 1300 GS is its powerful new boxer engine, which is the most potent BMW boxer engine ever produced. It generates 145 hp at 7750 rpm and a maximum torque of 149 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine is more compact than ever, thanks to the innovative gearbox placement and camshaft drive arrangement.
The motorcycle also boasts significant weight savings, shedding 12 kg compared to its predecessor. Its new design includes a flatter tank ramp and a dynamic, light, and accessible appearance. The new Matrix LED headlamps with Headlight Pro adjust the beam according to the motorcycle’s banking position, enhancing visibility and safety.
Advanced Riding Technologies
The R 1300 GS comes with several advanced features as standard, including Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR), Dynamic Brake Assist (DBC), and Hill Start Control (HSC). These features ensure a safer and more controlled riding experience. The standard Dynamic Package includes Gear Shift Assistant Pro and Riding Modes Pro, offering a range of riding settings like “Dynamic”, “Dynamic Pro”, “Enduro Pro”, and “Eco”.
The motorcycle also offers the new Riding Assistant, featuring Active Cruise Control (ACC), Front Collision Warning (FCW), and Lane Change Warning, ensuring a safer and more convenient riding experience.
Colours and Comfort
Customers can get their R 1300 GS in three colours: Style Triple Black, Style GS Trophy, and 719 Tramuntana. Each style offers unique design elements and comfort features. For instance, the Style Triple Black includes Comfort seats, Comfort passenger footrests, and an electrically adjustable high windshield.
Connectivity and Accessories
The R 1300 GS comes equipped with a 6.5-inch full-color TFT screen, providing quick access to vehicle and connectivity functions via the BMW Motorrad Multi-Controller. Standard comfort features include Keyless Ride, heated grips, and a smartphone charging compartment with integrated USB and 12V sockets.
A range of original BMW Motorcycle accessories and gear is available for further customization, allowing riders to tailor their R 1300 GS to their preferences.
