The 2023 BMW Motorrad GS Experience has commenced in India. The event offers riders a unique opportunity to experience the capabilities of the GS-class of bikes. It is a two day training session which has been designed exclusively for BMW adventure motorcyclists.
2-day Level 1 program for BMW GS Owners
This specially curated program offers riders a chance to learn the basics of off-road riding. On the first day, the owners of the GS bikes over 650cc will be participating. On the second day, BMW 310 GS riders will be called in. The training will include familiarity with the bike, understanding correct riding posture, enduro steering amongst others. Additionally, there will be exercises like gravel riding, emergency stop on slope, emergency braking and riding on inclines. After successful completion of Level 1, riders will automatically qualify for level 2.
BMW’s Team India search
BMW Motorrad has one more agenda with its GS Experience. There is a nation-wide search for three GS riders who will participate in the International GS Trophy as a team. The GS Trophy 2024 will be conducted in Namibia. The qualifiers for this event will be conducted later this year in India.
GS Experience more details
This two day event will take place across 11 cities of Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Kochi, Bengaluru and Lucknow. The event will also showcase the abilities of each GS model in real-world conditions as well as teach new techniques to enjoy the GS bikes. All these while keeping safety as a top priority. Each session will include a briefing followed by a demonstration by a certified BMW Motorrad Trainer.
BMW Motorrad R1200GS & R1250GS adventure bikes Recall
BMW Motorrad is recalling a total of 440,000 units of the R1200GS and R1250GS adventure bikes. This makes it one of the biggest recalls in the brand’s history. The recall pertains to all the models sold worldwide and is not limited to models from a particular market. The issue pertains to the cardan shafts of the adventure motorcycles.
