BMW Motorrad gearing up to launch the R1300 GS in India soon

BMW Motorrad is planning to launch the new R1300 GS in the Indian market. Speculation is that the new BMW Motorrad R1300 GS adventure bike will debut in India in the coming months. The BMW R1300 GS made its debut in the international market towards of the end of last year and now the brand plans to bring the bike to the Indian market. Expect the brand to reveal prices close to May 2024, but more details of the launch timeline will be available shortly.

BMW Motorrad R1300 GS – Design and Features

The BMW R1300 GS adventure motorcycle follows on the much popular R1250 GS. While the R1250 GS was a bulky motorcycle the new R1300 GS is athletic and lighter. However, the bike carries over the same design silhouette. The motorcycle features a more prominent beak, a sleek tail section and a raised fuel tank design. The GS also gets boomerang-shaped side panels and a tall windscreen that balances wind buffeting as well as visibility.

The BMW Motorrad R1300 GS also comes with features such as BMW’s Radar Based Assistance. This includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Front Collision Warning and Lane Change Warning. The motorcycle also gets multi-level traction control, ABS and riding modes.

BMW Motorrad R1300 GS – Technical Specifications

Powering the BMW R1300 GS is a new 1300cc horizontally-opposed twin-cylinder engine. The BMW Boxer engine produces 145 Hp of power @ 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm. The engine now produces 9 Hp and 6 Nm more than its predecessor and despite its larger displacement the engine is more compact than before. The brand has placed the 6-speed gearbox under the engine to achieve this. The bike comes with a 19-litre aluminium fuel tank, die-cast aluminium rear subframe to reduce its weight. BMW Motorrad also offers BMW Telelever front suspension and BMW Paralever rear suspension.
