Motorcycle enthusiasts in India have a reason to cheer as BMW Motorrad is set to launch the F 450 GS by mid-2025. The motorcycle was showcased at EICMA 2024 and is expected to go into production in the first half of next year.

What’s Special About the F 450 GS?

The baby GS is a middleweight adventure bike, designed to offer a blend of performance and comfort. It features a 450cc twin-cylinder engine that produces 48 horsepower. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, ensuring smooth and efficient gear shifts.

Design and Features

The motorcycle borrows design cues from the larger R 1300 GS, with an angular beak, neatly designed radiator shrouds, and a large fuel tank. The bike tips the scales at 175kg, making it relatively lightweight for an adventure bike. It comes with a fully adjustable USD fork at the front and a monoshock with load-dependent damping at the rear.

Market Expectations

BMW Motorrad plans to launch the new GS in India around mid-2025. The bike will comply with the new, stricter emission norms set to come into effect around the same time. The company is also considering manufacturing the bike in India, which could make it more affordable for Indian buyers.

F 450 GS Pricing and Competition

The expected price for the F 450 GS is around INR 4,00,000 to INR 4,50,000. It will compete with other adventure bikes in the market, such as the KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G 310 GS, and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.

Rider’s Perspective

Riders are excited about the new bike. The F 450 GS promises to deliver a thrilling riding experience with its powerful engine and advanced features. The bike’s design and build quality are expected to make it a strong contender in the adventure bike segment.

The launch of the BMW F 450 GS in India is eagerly anticipated by motorcycle enthusiasts. With its impressive specifications and advanced features, the bike is set to make a mark in the adventure bike market.
