BMW launches C 400 GT scooter in India at INR 9.95 lakh

BMW Motorrad India has announced the launch of its new urban-lifestyle-based maxi-cooter, the C 400 GT. Now available at BMW Motorrad retail stores across India, the C 400 GT aims to be a distinctive and stand-out option among its competition.

BMW C 400 GT: Price and Colours 

Starting at an introductory price of INR 9.95 lakh, BMW Motorrad offers the C 400 GT with two colour options. The ‘Alpine White’ colour scheme as standard, whereas the ‘Style Triple Black’ is an INR 20,000 optional extra. The ‘Style Triple Black’ colour scheme features matt black and contrasting dark grey exterior bits, giving the scooter a unique look.

BMW C 400 GT: Exterior Design and Styling

The C 400 GT features a V-shaped trim panel component that protects foreign elements and creates a unique shape. The panel includes the distinctive full-LED front headlights with an optional LED DRL for better visibility. The mid-size scooter features an aluminium die-cast frame with a steel tube construction and a unique ergonomic seat.

The C 400 GT comes with a 30-litre waterproof storage case that can fit one full-size helmet. Attached to the storage case is a backrest pad for added passenger comfort on short or long trips. The maxi-scooter also comes with a tall windshield with scratch-proof coating for maximum protection.

BMW C 400 GT: Technical Specifications 

Powering the BMW C 400 GT is a water-cooled 350cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine with an overhead camshaft and wet-sump lubrication. This motor produces 34 PS of power and 35 Nm of torque, enabling the scooter to achieve 100 kph in 9.5 seconds. The C 400 GT sports a top speed of 139 kph, and the motor and comes with a CVT gearbox.

The gearbox features a dry centrifugal clutch, granting the scooter a smooth and efficient ride thanks to its two-stage reduction gear. The scooter sports a front telescopic fork suspension of 35 mm diameter and 110 mm of travel. The rear suspension sports an adjustable double aluminium swingarm and spring struts with 112 mm of travel. Other notable specifications include dual front disk brakes with ABS, rear disk brake, and 15-inch front wheels with 14-inches rear wheels.

BMW C 400 GT: Features 

The C 400 GT comes with standard features such as a stainless steel exhaust system, keyless ride, and self-calibrating ASC. This also includes a centre stand, USB charging socket, and Ride by Wire functionality. The bike also comes with BMW Motorrad Connectivity as optional equipment to the maxi-scooter, which features a 6.5-inch colour TFT display. This grants the rider turn-by-turn navigation and the ability to make phone calls or listen to music. Other noteworthy features include traction control, ride modes, an anti-theft alarm system, and Bluetooth connectivity.
