Key highlights

  • BMW India has introduced a uniform ex-showroom price of INR 2.05 crore for the i7 electric sedan across all states.
  • The pricing includes registration charges, GST, and compensation cess, ensuring price parity for customers nationwide.
  • Customers will only need to pay for insurance, Tax Collected at Source (TCS), and local cess levies.

BMW India has announced a nationwide uniform pricing policy for its flagship electric sedan, the BMW i7, eliminating regional disparities in vehicle registration costs. The move ensures that customers across India pay the same ex-showroom price of ₹2.05 crore, regardless of their state of registration.

Why the uniform pricing?

Traditionally, vehicle registration taxes vary across states, leading to price fluctuations for buyers. BMW India has decided to absorb registration costs, including GST and compensation cess, to simplify the purchasing process and encourage EV adoption.

BMW Group India President and CEO Vikram Pawah explained that this initiative aims to reduce uncertainty for customers, ensuring that everyone pays the same price, even if state taxes change.

What’s included in the price?

The INR 2.05 crore ex-showroom price covers:

  • Registration charges (borne by BMW India).
  • GST and compensation cess.
  • Dealer administration costs.

Customers will only need to pay for:

  • Insurance.
  • Tax Collected at Source (TCS).
  • Local cess levies (if applicable).
