BMW F 450 GS ADV bike – All details
As visible in the fresh spy images, the test bike is seen without any camouflage, revealing its design highlights. It indeed looks like a baby GS 1300 from the front as it gets a vertical dual-projector LED headlamp, a tall windscreen, and golden USD forks.
The big fuel tank and alloy wheels hint that it will be a road-focused ADV-touring bike. However, we can safely assume that BMW will introduce its hardcore off-road version alongside the touring model seen here.
Other critical details include the USD forks at the front, which look adjustable. Moreover, the test bike is loaded with accessories like knuckle guards, a bash plate, and a top-box with a side pannier frame.
The rider seen here looks fairly comfortable, as the riding triangle looks upright and relaxed, which is good for long touring. Another reason behind it is the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup.
It also has a big TFT console, just like the bigger GS models. Therefore, features like BMW-app navigation, Bluetooth, ride modes, traction modes, etc, will be offered as well.
Powering the F 450 GS is going to be a brand-new 450cc, twin-cylinder motor, which is jointly developed by BMW and TVS. In fact, the F 450 GS, once launched in India, will be made by TVS at its Hosur-based plant.
As of now, the launch timeline and other details are unknown, but we are expecting BMW to launch it before the end of this year. The price tag of the F 450 GS will be in the ballpark of Rs 4.5 lakh.
Our verdict
The upcoming BMW F 450 GS is likely to become a game-changer in India. While its current rivals are only single-cylinder models like the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the KTM 390 Adventure, the CF Moto 450 will be launched in the coming months, thus creating a new space of affordable twin-cylinder ADV bikes in India.
