BMW India has introduced diesel power to its newly launched 3 Series Long Wheelbase limousine. The diesel engine option starts from Rs 62 lakh and it is being offered in two variants.

BMW 3 Series LWB diesel engine details
BMW introduced the MY25 3 Series Long Wheelbase sedan in India a few weeks earlier. However, it was offered only with a petrol engine initially. Now, the company has launched the diesel engine option to it.
The newly added diesel powertrain is a 2.0-litre, inline-four, turbocharged engine that develops 187.6bhp and 400Nm of peak power and torque. The RWD drivetrain configuration is mated to a reliable and quick 8-speed automatic gearbox.
In terms of performance, it can sprint 0-100kmph in just 7.6 seconds, making it really quick for a diesel engine. Moreover, the car can also reach up to a top speed of 230kmph. But, the exciting part is that it can also deliver up to 19.6kmpl of fuel economy as per the claim.
Speaking of the MY25 3 Series LWB, it is a limousine version of the standard model but featuring more luxurious upgrades and enhancements. It gets a revised design, and an updated cabin with more space and comfort for the rear passengers.
Feature-wise, it is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital cockpit, massive 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment, ambient lights, ventilated front seats, level 2 ADAS safety and more.

Our verdict
The 3 Series LWB is a perfect limousine for chauffeur-driven customers looking for a sizeable car that can be occasionally self-driven without size hesitation. Moreover, it offers the rear seat comfort of a 5 Series, without spending the equivalent amount.
