Having launched the TNT 25 in India, DSK Motowheels is now reworking their strategy for the Benelli brand now.
With a 250cc model now in place, DSK is thinking that a 300cc model is not really justifying the price tag. Benelli could rework the TNT 300 and relaunch it as TNT 400 with a bigger engine.
The TNT 400 would basically be a bored out version of the TNT 300 and sport a 400cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled petrol motor producing over 40 BHP of power and 30 Nm of torque. This will help the brand pitch the bike better against the Japanese competition.
Also, from 2016, Benelli superbikes will start getting equipped with ABS.
Pricing of the TNT 400 would be higher by at least Rs. 50,000 compared to the TNT 300. So expect on-road price close to Rs. 3.7 – 4 lakh.
