Bajaj plans to launch Pulsar NS400 very soon

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Bajaj could be planning to enhance its ‘NS’ portfolio with a more powerful mid-spec motorcycle. According to media reports, Bajaj is likely to bring the Pulsar NS400 to the Indian market. The demand in the mid-size motorcycle has increased and launching a bigger Pulsar only makes sense. Bajaj’s Triumph Speed 400 as well as the Scrambler 400 also show an increasing sales trend.

Bajaj Pulsar NS400 – Design and Features

The Bajaj Pulsar NS400 is likely to be the biggest Pulsar in the portfolio. This leads us to believe that the brand will completely redesign its body and also offer premium features with the motorcycle. The NS400 is likely to come with brand new body panels and electronics. This may include a triangular headlamp, muscular fuel tank, step-up seats and large tank shrouds. The motorcycle is also likely to come with a full digital dashboard. In addition to this, the Pulsar NS400 is likely to use upside down suspension units on the front and a monoshock on the rear.

Bajaj Pulsar NS400 – Engine Specifications

Bajaj could use the powertrain from the Dominar 400 for the new Pulsar NS400. The 373cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine produces 40 PS of power and 35 Nm of torque. The brand can also use the Triumph Speed400/Scrambler 400 engine. The engine is a 398cc unit and makes 40 PS of power and 37.5 Nm of torque.

The brand also has a third option which is the KTM 390 Duke engine with the latest updates. The 399cc engine makes 45 PS of power and 39 Nm of torque. However, it is the most unlikely of the lot. Bajaj is also likely to offer electronic upgrades such as riding modes and electronic throttle with the new Pulsar NS400.

Details on the Pulsar NS400 are quite scarce, however, reports suggest that the NS400 could debut later this year. More details are likely to be available in the near future.
