Bajaj Chetak bookings opened & closed in 48 hours

On the auspicious day of Gudi Padwa that is 13th April 2021, Bajaj Auto started accepting bookings for the Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter. The bookings were open from 9 Am on a first-come-first-served basis. But in just 48 hours the company had to cease the booking operations due to an overwhelming response. Bajaj will now review the supply situation and announce the next round of booking opportunity. While Bajaj is not accepting any bookings, the brand is still registering interested customer on the official website.

Bajaj Chetak Electric Sold Out

The bookings were open in Pune and Bengaluru and the electric scooter is now out of stock in both cities. It took just 48 hours for enthusiasts to exhaust the company’s stock. However, the brand reveals that it will resolve the supply chain issues soon and re-open bookings as well as roll into more cities within the next quarter. The brand also reveals that due to COVID-19 disruptions the Chetak had a long waiting queue. Despite the company has seen very few cancellations and this time Bajaj will deliver the Chetak as early as possible.

Chetak Electric Powertrain & Electric Range

Powering the Chetak Electric is a powerful pivot-mounted 4kW/14 Nm electric motor. This electric motor draws the electric power from an IP-67 ingress protection-rated dust and waterproof 3kWh battery pack that claims to have a riding range of more than 95 km on a full charge in the Eco mode. The battery takes 5 hours to completely recharge. But the battery pack can attain an 80% state of charge in just 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Features, Variants, Price, Service and Warranty

The Bajaj Chetak Electric comes with features such as all-LED lighting that only saves power but also efficiently illuminates the road. Other features include a fully digital negative backlit LCD display, with smartphone app connectivity and a premium retro classic design. Bajaj offers the Chetak electric scooter in two variants – Urbane & Premium. The Urbane starts at INR 1.15 lakh ex-showroom and the Premium comes with a price tag of INR 1.20 lakh ex-showroom. The Bajaj Chetak has a service interval of 12,000 km / 1-year. The brand also offers a 3-year / 50,000-kilometre overall warranty including the lithium-ion battery.
