Chetak 3001: A Smarter, Sharper, Lifeproof Upgrade

Bajaj Auto has officially launched the Chetak 3001, its latest electric scooter, based on the proven 35 Series platform. The new model arrives as a successor to the wildly successful 2903 and comes with tangible upgrades to practicality, performance, and features. At INR 99,990 (ex-showroom), it enters the growing mass-premium EV segment with a strong value proposition.

Built for the Indian way of life

The Chetak 3001 retains its signature full-metal body, making it the only EV in the segment with this rugged construction. The solid feel is further backed by IP67-rated waterproofing, meaning it’s ready for Indian monsoons, potholes, and everything in between. The new floorboard-mounted battery design brings a lower center of gravity, more underseat storage (now a whopping 35 litres), and better ride dynamics.

127 KM range, rapid charging, and more

At its core is a 3.0 kWh battery that delivers a certified range of 127 km. With a 750W charger, the Chetak 3001 can charge from 0% to 80% in just under 4 hours — faster than many rivals in the sub-₹1 lakh space. Bajaj also offers the optional TecPac, which adds connected features like music controls, call alerts, hill hold assist, reverse light, and auto-flashing brake lamps.

Competitors beware

The Chetak 3001 enters a very competitive space currently led by Ola S1 Air, TVS iQube, and Ather 450S. While those scooters excel in software or performance, Bajaj is banking on its hardware durability, service reach (3,800+ touchpoints), and a no-nonsense, well-engineered riding experience. The 3001 doesn’t just go green — it’s designed to go the distance.

Available online and offline

In a nod to modern retail, the Chetak 3001 will also be available on Amazon, expanding its reach beyond showrooms. And with Chetak finishing FY25 Q4 as India’s no. 1 selling electric scooter, the brand is only doubling down.
