Bajaj has announced that the brand registered a total (Domestic + International) sales of 3,48,173 units. Out of this, the brand exported 2,21,603 units, showing a strong exports performance at the beginning of the fiscal. This strong sales performance also led the brand to become the top performer in the motorcycle segment in India.
Bajaj Auto Leads Indian Automobile Exports
Bajaj Auto has emerged as India’s #1 motorcycle maker in April 2021. The brand also announced that exports accounted for almost 60% of the nation’s motorcycle and three-wheelers, leading the segment. The brand’s income through exports stood at INR 12,687 crore in FY2020-21. The brand exports 52% of its volumes to 79 countries around the world. Across the globe, Bajaj is one of the most visible brand’s with a cumulative export of 18 Million vehicle in exports in 10 years. The brand’s global exports have earned USD 14 Billion of foreign exchange in the last ten years.
The World’s Favourite Indian – Pulsar series
Back in 2001, Baja introduced the Pulsar brand to India. The Bajaj Pulsar wasa turning point in the sportsbiking segment in the Indian market. The Pulsar brand still continues to be the market leader in both domestic and the international market. The brand reveals that in FY2021, the Pulsar series sold over 1.25 Million units, globally.
Bajaj Electric Vehicle Sales
Bajaj recently revived the iconic Chetak brand but gave it a zero emission, electric avatar. The electric scooter got an overwhelming response last year and got sold out. The brand reopened bookings on the electric scooter again this year and within 36 hours the e-scooter sold out again in Pune & Bengaluru. Now the brand is planning to scale up production as well as expand the Chetak sales network to 24 cities in the Indian market. The brand will be investing INR 650 Crores in a fourth plant to be built at Chakan, Maharashtra. This new production line will house the premium Chetak scooter and other premium motorcycles.
