Audi reveals new generation Q5 SUV

Audi has revealed the new Audi Q5 which the brand had teased earlier with a sleek DRL. The 3rd-generation Q5 comes with a new design not only on its exteriors but also its interiors. The SUV also now comes with more equipment and becomes the first Audi to use the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture. The brand also reveals that the new Audi Q5 will come with mild hybrid technology, which means the new Audi Q5 comes with a 48V electric architecture as standard.

Design

On the outside, the new Audi Q5 comes with sharper features especially the light signatures. In addition to this, the car also gets a smaller grille and a new bumper. Furthermore, the Audi Q5 also gets sleeker Matrix LED headlamps on the front and connected LED tail lamps. Interior features include a new cabin design similar to the Q6 e-tron along with Audi MMI, a new panoramic display which is 11.9-inches in size. The car also gets a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display along with the option of a 10.9-inch display for the front passenger. The car also comes with a squircle steering wheel.

Powertrain

Powering the Audi Q5 is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that is capable of pumping out 204 Hp of power and 340 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a front wheel drivetrain along with the option of an all-wheel-drive. Furthermore, the Q5 also comes with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 204 Hp of power and 400 Nm of torque. Audi will also be offering the top-of-the-line 3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine with 367 Hp of power and 550 Nm of torque. All the available powertrain come with the 48V mild-hybrid system that adds another 24 Hp of power and 230 Nm of torque and the powertrains come matched to a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission.

While Audi plans to commence deliveries from the first quarter of 2025 in Europe, the brand is likely to bring the SUV to India around the festive season in 2025.
