Audi reveals new A6 e-tron based on PPE platform

Audi has launched the A6 e-tron in both the Avant and Sportback body styles in the international markets. The brand has also announced that the A6 e-tron will be the brand’s second car to be based on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) architecture which it shares with the Porsche.

In addition to this, Audi also revealed that the A6 e-tron comes with premium features such as virtual exterior mirrors, a panoramic sunroof which turns opaque at the touch of a button, illuminated Audi rings on the rear and a driving range of up to 765 km on a single charge. The brand also revealed that the Audi A6 e-tron will come with a starting price of EUR 75,600. Furthermore, the Audi A6 e-tron will be available to order in the international markets from September 2024.

Audi A6 e-tron – Powertrain

The Audi A6 e-tron Sportback and Avant come with rear wheel driven base model which pumps 282 hp of power. The performance RWD model comes with 363 hp of power and the top-spec model get all-wheel drive and 422 hp of power. The A6 e-tron comes with an 83 kWh battery pack that claims 610 km of range on a single charge and an optional 100 kWh battery that offers 647 to 756 km on a single charge depending on the variant.

Recharging the Audi A6 e-tron takes 21 minutes to charge from 10 to 80% on a 270 kW charger and for the 100 kWh battery pack. And Audi claims that in just 10 minutes 310 km worth of battery juice can be pumped with the 800V 270 kW charger. However, the on-board charger is rated to 11 kW with an option of 22 kW on board charger.

Expect the Audi A6 e-tron to launch in the Indian market by mid-2023, with prices expected to be around the INR 70 lakh mark before taxes. The Audi A6 e-tron will compete with the BMW i5 when launched in India.
