Audi has issued a global recall for all its A4 models including sedans, wagons etc. The recall has been issued sighting a software glitch which could hamper the airbag deployment in case of an accident.

8.5 lakh units of the Audi A4 sold globally have been covered under this recall. Cars manufactured between 2012 to October 2014 will have to get the possible defect in their cars rectified. Audi claims that the fix will need merely 3 minutes since only a software update is required. All mechanical parts are assumed to be working fine. Customers in India need to connect with their respective dealers and check if their vehicle falls under the recalled list.

As of now, no injuries or deaths have been caused because of this software glitch on the Audi A4. The company is proactively working on resolving the issue at the earliest before anything impacts the brand negatively.

This airbag issue is not related to the Takata global recall.
