Audi has opened the bookings for the Q3 Sportback. This is a coupe-version of the standard Q3. Interested customers can book the car by paying a token amount of INR 2,00,000. The car is expected to be launched later this month.
What’s new in the Audi Q3 Sportback?
Based on the regular Q3, the Q3 Sportback comes with a more eye-catching exterior design. It gets a unique front grille and a blacked roof. The rear end gets a coupe-like roofline. It also gets stylish wraparound LED tail lamps and a black Audi logo.
Coming to the insides, most of the interior is shared with the regular Q3. Audi has offered a large 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. In terms of features, the full feature list is not yet available but Audi will offer offer a large sunroof, electric front seats with lumbar support and a 3-spoke steering wheel amongst others.
Powertrain of the Audi Q3 Sportback
Like the Q3, the Audi Q3 Sportback will have the same 2,0-litre turbocharged engine. This particular motor produces 188 BHP and a peak torque of 320 Nm. Audi has paired a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox with this engine. The car sends power to all the four wheels via Audi’s Quattro system. The 0-100 km/h time is claimed to be 7.3 seconds.
Audi’s Activesphere concept
Recently, Audi showcased the Activesphere concept vehicle. The luxury coupe’s party trick is conversion from a coupe to a pickup truck. The Audi Activesphere concept is based on the German carmaker’s modular premium Platform Electric (PPE) that will have next-gen self-driving capabilities. It will also spawn future shape shifting vehicles as well.
The car rides on adaptive air suspension that the raise or lower as per need. Further Audi has equipped the car with large 22-inch rims shod in 285/50-section tyres. At the highest setting, the car has 248 mm of ground clearance while on the highway, the driver can reduce it to the default 208 mm.
