Audi India has reported an impressive 97 per cent growth in sales. This is for the first half of 2023 compared to the previous year. The carmaker sold 3,474 units from January to June 2023. This is a significant increase from 1,765 units sold during the same period last year. Audi attributed this growth to strong demand across its model portfolio in India. This is particularly for its “volume-driven” models such as the A4, Q3, and A6.
Audi India’a Encouraging Sales Figure
Despite supply challenges and rising input costs, Audi India’s performance in the first half of the year has laid a solid foundation for a successful second half. Audi India expressed confidence in the upcoming performance going forward. The Audi Q3, Audi Q3 Sportback, Audi Q5, Audi A4, and Audi A6 are experiencing robust demand, driving sales growth. Additionally, models like the Q7, Q8, and A8, as well as performance S and RS models and electric vehicles, are also selling well for Audi India.
Audi also highlighted the growth of its used car business. This saw a 53 per cent year-on-year increase in sales. The company currently operates 23 Audi Approved centres across India. There are plans to open four more by the end of 2023. This expansion of their used car business further contributes to Audi’s overall sales growth and customer reach in the country.
Audi All Set To Expand Its Portfolio
According to a media report, Audi is set to expand its electric vehicle portfolio in India. This will begin with the introduction of the Q8 e-tron. The EV might arrive in the country sometime next month. This will come in as a completely built unit (CBU). The Audi Q8 e-tron will arrive in two body styles, namely, SUV and Sportback, and three variants: Q8 50 e-tron, Q8 55 e-tron, and SQ8 e-tron.
