Audi has introduced the A6 e-tron electric Sportback concept. The Audi A6 e-tron concept features the Premium Platform Electric and comes with a range of more than 700 km. The electric vehicle is also capable of recharging at a 270 kW fast-charging station. The brand will introduce the four-door Audi A6 e-tron concept in flesh at the Auto Shanghai 2021 show.

Design & Styling

The Audi A6 e-tron electric vehicle measures 4,960mm in length, 1,960mm wide and 1,440 mm in height. The A6 e-tron is designed as a Sportback and the cuts and crease lines on the vehicle depict systematic advancement of Audi’s design language. The four-door design features a blank single-frame grille with chrome treatment and a long bonnet. The headlamps are sleek LED units and the front apron features vertical air intakes. The wheel arches are flared and round while the roofline slopes back far into the rear deck. The rear section comes with a wraparound taillamp, a black boot applique and a diffuser effect on the lower bumper.

Aerodynamics

The new A6 e-tron concept features a cW value of just 0.22, one of the best in electrified C-segment. The brand has spent hours fine-tuning the design in the wind tunnel. This resulted in an organic design and the brand boasts exceptional elegance and harmony in the design language. The car features 22-inch alloy wheels and short overhangs along with convex and concave surfaces on the sides.

Powertrain

The Audi A6 e-tron comes with the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture that features a 100 kWh battery pack. The battery pack sits between the axles with a relatively flat layout. The battery pack allows high ground clearance along with a low squat look. The brand also reveals that the battery size and wheelbase of PPE vehicles are scalable and therefore the size can be changed depending on the market. The A6 e-tron concept features two electric motors that deliver 350 kW of power and 800 Nm of torque.

The brand claims a range of more than 700 km on a single charge. The 800-volt architecture also allows short charging time with a 270 kW fast-charging system. This means it will take just 10 minutes for a charge worth 300 km. In less than 25 minutes, the Audi A6 e-tron concept can charge from 5 – 80%.
